The county of the Cusco is located in the East South region of the National Territory. Limits:

- For the North:
With the counties of Urubamba and Calca.
- For the South:
With the county of Paruro.
- For the East:
With the county of Quispicanchis. - For the West: With the county of Anta.


Altitude:
The height average according to the Regional Statistical Bulletin reaches 3,399 m.s.n.m. varying according to the different ecological floors. Indeed, the District of Ccorca shows the biggest altitude with 3,637 m.s.n.m. and the smallest altitude the district of Saylla with 3,145 m.s.n.m.

Climate:
In the province of Cusco, the climate in the Quechua area is tempered and in the Puna area is cold. The stations are divided in two periods : dry off and humid. The moderate cold temperature is accentuated in the months of winter starting from June 21 at the of September 22, station in which they take place approximately intense freezes and one summer that it begins starting from December 21 at March 21, station that is presented with an intensity of rains.
The temperatures annual averages in the Cusco fluctuate among 10.3 and 11.3 ºC. The months in those that the lowest temperature takes place are June and July where the temperatures fluctuate between 5 and 7 grades ºC. below zero; however in the months that register the freezes they are from May until August.

Language:
It Uses two official languages. The official languages are the Spanish and the Quechua one. The Quechua one as second language, is spoken mostly in the mountain of the Peru, existing another language like the aymara in the south area of the Peru (Puno), while in the forest a linguistic variety exists (dialects) that surpasses the 40 languages, spoken by native communities.
